Giants Running Back Skattebo Downplays Shoulder Injury Concerns

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo has indicated that he is prepared to play in Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders, despite being a limited participant in practice with a shoulder injury. Skattebo, known for his aggressive playing style, dismissed concerns, stating that the issue was minor muscle tightness that has since subsided.

"I'm good," Skattebo said Friday. "Just a little muscle tightness; nothing to worry about... they told me to wear [the no-contact jersey] just for safety. Just doing what I'm told."

He communicated his readiness to offensive coordinator Mike coaches, expressing his eagerness to contribute. Skattebo previously overcame a significant leg injury, an experience from which he reportedly had to be cautioned against performing backflips during his recovery.

The Giants, currently leading the NFC East, have faced other injury challenges this season, with quarterback Jaxson Dart and wide receiver Malik Nabers also missing playing time. The team cannot afford further offensive setbacks as they navigate a critical part of their season.

Through four games this season, Skattebo has accumulated 235 rushing yards and one touchdown, averaging 3.5 yards per carry.
