Giants Quarterback Jaxson Dart Suffers Knee Injury Early in Game Against Rams

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart was forced out of Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams with a knee injury sustained on the team's first offensive drive. The injury occurred when Dart was hit by Rams defenders Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart while attempting a pass.

Eyewitness accounts described Dart's left knee bending awkwardly inward under the force of the collision with Stewart. Despite the apparent severity of the incident, the 23-year-old quarterback was able to walk off the field under his own power, though he appeared to be moving with difficulty and displayed visible frustration.

Dart was attended to by teammates Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely before heading to the blue medical tent. He subsequently returned to the locker room, and Jameis Winston entered the game to replace him at quarterback.

The injury is a significant setback for the Giants and their new head coach, John Harbaugh, especially following their Week 1 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Harbaugh was observed looking disheartened as he watched Dart on the field.

In the Giants' season opener, Dart delivered a strong performance, throwing for 230 yards and three touchdowns while also contributing 54 rushing yards. The former Ole Miss standout was anticipated to build on a promising, albeit injury-interrupted, rookie season after being selected by the Giants with the 25th overall pick in the NFL draft.
