New York Giants starting quarterback Jaxson Dart is undergoing evaluation for a left knee injury, according to coach John Harbaugh. Decisions regarding Dart's playing status have not yet been made, Harbaugh stated Tuesday.
Harbaugh addressed the injury following the Giants' 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night, during which Dart exited the game. He declined to confirm reports suggesting the injury is more severe than an initial diagnosis of a sprained medial collateral ligament (MCL), which could potentially lead to an extended absence or season-ending surgery. Harbaugh indicated that an MRI would provide further clarity.
"It’s an ongoing conversation about the health of a player, of a person," Harbaugh said during a video call with reporters. "We’ve got to prepare for the range of possibilities."
