Giants QB Jaxson Dart Injured in Rams Game, GM Expresses Confidence
Despite a knee injury that forced him out of Monday's game against the Rams, General Manager Joe Schoen stated quarterback Jaxson Dart is expected to be okay.
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart sustained a knee injury during the first quarter of Monday's game against the Los Angeles Rams, leading to his early exit from the contest. General Manager Joe Schoen informed ESPN that Dart is "going to be OK."
The injury occurred following a hit from Rams defenders Byron Young and Josiah Stewart on the opening drive at SoFi Stadium. According to sideline reporter Laura Rutledge, training staff had to retrieve Dart's jersey, indicating the quarterback's desire to return to the game despite the injury.
Jameis Winston replaced Dart at quarterback. The Giants are operating without a dedicated backup, as third-stringer Jake Haener is currently on the practice squad.
By the third quarter, the Giants trailed the Rams 21-3, with Winston struggling to establish momentum for the offense.
