Giants Injury Report Offers Glimmers of Hope After Tough Loss

The New York Giants have received encouraging news regarding several key players' injuries following their recent loss to the Rams, with some stars trending towards a return. However, the team will be without quarterback Jaxson Dart for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.

Outside linebacker Brian Burns (ankle), cornerback Deonte Banks (calf), and safety Tyler Nubin (calf) are currently listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans. Despite this designation, Banks expressed optimism about his availability, stating he feels better than he did last week and expects to play. Burns, however, did not participate in any practices this week, though he was observed working with trainers.

Offensive tackle Andrew Thomas (groin) and wide receiver Malik Nabers (shoulder) appear to be out of immediate danger. Thomas, who sustained an injury on the Giants' final drive of the Rams game, was a full participant in Friday's practice after missing Thursday's session. He reported feeling good despite soreness immediately after the game. Nabers is ready to play after an X-ray on his dislocated shoulder revealed positive results, with head coach John Harbaugh noting it won't affect his play on the field.

In other injury updates, defensive tackle Shelby Harris was upgraded to full participation after being limited. If Nubin is unable to play, Ar’Darius Washington could see increased snaps at safety, though Washington has only played two defensive snaps this season. Thomas acknowledged the team's commitment to player safety while expressing sympathy for Dart's season-ending injury.

Separately, Jerry Rosburg, a friend of Harbaugh's and former interim head coach for the Broncos, attended Friday's practice. Rosburg, who specializes in special teams and game management, is visiting his daughter, Megan, who works as an assistant to the head coach and a defensive assistant for the Giants. Harbaugh welcomed Rosburg's presence, noting he participated in team meetings.

The Giants are preparing for a potential rainy matchup against the Titans, who have been practicing with wet footballs. The Giants themselves have not taken similar precautions. Harbaugh joked about the team's inability to control the weather.
