The New York Giants have claimed defensive lineman C.J. Ravenell off waivers after he was released by the Tennessee Titans. Ravenell, 26, was cut from the Titans' injured reserve list on Monday and claimed by the Giants on Tuesday.

Ravenell, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 300 pounds, spent the 2024 season on the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad. He played under new Giants defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson when Wilson held the same position in Tennessee. Ravenell appeared in 14 games for the Titans last season, including one start, recording six tackles and one forced fumble. The defensive lineman is a product of Division II Missouri Western.

The Giants created a roster spot by waiving cornerback Rico Payton with an injury designation. Payton, also 26, played in nine games for the Giants last season primarily on special teams, making 12 tackles.
