Giants' Cam Skattebo Benched Amidst Coach's
Coach John Harbaugh clarified running back Cam Skattebo was not officially benched, despite not playing in the second half due to fumble issues.
New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was not formally benched but did not play in the second half of a recent game due to fumbling issues, according to coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh stated that Skattebo was not "benched," though the player did not record any carries after halftime. The Giants' rushing game struggled in Skattebo's absence, averaging only 2.4 yards per carry in the second half.
This situation adds a new layer of complexity for fantasy football managers, who often have to contend with late-week injury news. The possibility of late-stage benchings, similar to Skattebo's limited second-half usage, can create significant roster challenges after the waiver period has closed. The team experienced similar disruptions with injuries to players like Tyler Warren and Jeremiyah Love in the past, and the Christian McCaffrey Week 1 incident last season highlighted the unpredictability of player availability.
