Giants Brace for Jayden Daniels' Return

The New York Giants are preparing for the return of Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels for their upcoming clash. "We're gonna have to prepare for Jayden. Until they say he’s not playing, we’re assuming he’s playing and we’re preparing for all the things he does as if he was 100 percent healthy," Giants head coach John Harbaugh stated Monday.

Harbaugh added, "They’re not gonna put him out there if he’s not ready to play. That’s the way we’ll approach it." Daniels missed the past two games with a dislocated left elbow. Washington coach Dan Quinn indicated Daniels will be a full participant in practice this week.

Without Daniels, the Commanders secured a 33-31 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. However, in their most recent game, Marcus Mariota was forced out with a knee injury, leading to a 30-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in London with third-string quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis playing most of the game. If no unforeseen issues arise, Daniels is expected to start against the Giants on Sunday at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.

"He’s different," Harbaugh said of Daniels. "He’s a premier quarterback who can operate just in all those modalities. He can RPO. He’s quarterback driven. It’s dropback pass. It’s under center. It’s under center, play-action, downhill run game. He does it all. He’s a very accurate passer. Outside throwing lanes, especially accurate, which is tough. Nice touch underneath. He’s proven himself to be a very, very dangerous quarterback, obviously. So, yeah, premier guy and it looks like we’re going to get him, so we’re going to have to be at our best."

Daniels holds a 3-0 career record against the Giants.
