Giant Pandas Celebrate Birthdays Worldwide
Pandas in China and Spain receive special treats and gifts to mark their special occasions.
Giant pandas across the globe have been celebrating their birthdays with tailored gifts and festive meals from their caretakers.
In Chongqing, China, the giant panda Liang Yue marked her tenth birthday on September 19. Her celebration included a specially prepared cake, floral arrangements, new toys, and an ice bed designed to provide a cooling respite. Liang Yue was joined in her celebration by her cub, Wang Shu, as they enjoyed their birthday feast.
Thousands of miles away, Madrid Zoo in Spain also hosted a birthday celebration for its giant pandas. Jin Xi and Zhu Yu, a pair of giant pandas, celebrated their sixth birthdays on September 19. Zhu Yu, one of only two giant pandas in Spain, was pictured enjoying a birthday cake. The event created a festive atmosphere at the zoo, drawing attention from visitors and staff.
