Celebrity chef and host Giada De Laurentiis and her professional partner, Alan Bersten, were eliminated from "Dancing With the Stars" during the "Viral Hits Night" episode on Tuesday. This marks the third elimination of the current season.
The evening's performances were inspired by viral internet trends and moments. De Laurentiis and Bersten's Salsa to Becky G's "Bella Ciao" earned them a score of 12 out of 30, placing them at the bottom of the leaderboard.
Two other couples were also in danger of elimination: "Bachelor Nation" star Tyler Cameron and partner Sharna Burgess, and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" correspondent Guillermo Rodriguez and partner Witney Carson.
Topping the leaderboard were "Step Up" actress Jenna Dewan and partner Val Chmerkovskiy; Paralympian Ezra Frech and partner Daniella Karagach; and Olympic figure skater Amber Glenn and partner Pasha Pashkov, all scoring 21 out of 30. Dewan and Chmerkovskiy performed a Jive to KATSEYE's "Animal," Frech and Karagach danced a Cha Cha to Flo Rida's "Low," and Glenn and Pashkov performed a Tango to Harrison's "All the Things She Said."
Following closely behind with a score of 19 out of 30 were "Traitors" alum Maura Higgins and partner Mark Ballas, who performed a Cha Cha to Earth, Wind & Fire's "September."
Four pairs tied with a score of 18 out of 30. These included "Summer House" star Ciara Miller and partner Brandon Armstrong performing a Tango to Disco Lines & Tinashe's "No Broke Boys." Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson and partner Emma Slater danced a Foxtrot to Gracie Abrams' "That’s So True." "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" actress Tatyana Ali and partner Jan Ravnik performed a Foxtrot to Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" and "Glee" alum Harry Shum Jr. and partner Jenna Johnson danced a Viennese Waltz to the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris."
Cameron and Burgess received a 16 out of 30 for their Salsa to The Kid LAROI's "Girls." "Save the Last Dance" actress Julia Stiles and partner Ezra Sosa also scored 16 for their Tango to Teddy Swims' "The Door."
Comedian Connor Wood and partner Rylee Arnold earned a 15 out of 30 for their Tango to sombr's "12 to 12." Singer Taylor Hanson and partner Britt Stewart also scored 15 for their Cha Cha to DNCE's "Cake By the Ocean."
Rodriguez and Carson's Paso Doble to Rihanna's "Where Have You Been" also garnered a 12 out of 30, placing them with De Laurentiis and Bersten at the bottom.
Last week's season premiere saw "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" star Conner Leavitt and "Love Thy Nader" star Sarah Jane Nader eliminated in consecutive eliminations. Harry Shum Jr. and Maura Higgins led the leaderboard on their respective nights during the premiere.
New episodes of "Dancing With the Stars" air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming on Hulu the following day.
