Gia Giudice, daughter of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice, has submitted a "humanitarian packet" to President Donald Trump, urging a pardon for her father, Joe Giudice. Giudice, an Italian-born businessman, was deported from the United States in 2019 after serving a 41-month sentence for fraud charges.
"We just filed a humanitarian packet for him, just kind of trying to do everything we can to get him pardoned and hopefully come back, or even just on visitation," Gia Giudice, 25, told FOX 5 New York. "We're still actively working through that and trying everything we can. I mean, I think any family would want their dad home. Any daughter or child would want their father home."
Gia Giudice, an aspiring attorney with a criminal justice degree from Rutgers University, stated that she was inspired to pursue a pardon for her father about a year ago by the pardoning of Todd and Julie Chrisley. "Watching the Chrisley family receive a second chance inspired me. It showed me that people can be forgiven, that families can be restored and that sometimes the justice system has room for grace," she said in an Instagram video. "That gave me hope. Hope that maybe my dad could come home, too."
Joe Giudice, 54, who is currently based in the Bahamas, previously made his own plea to then-President Trump. "I served my time, and I've been deported from the US for nearly a decade," he stated. "I was raised in Jersey, I'm a father of four amazing daughters, and I just want to be allowed to visit them again. President Trump, I respect you and I'm asking for a second chance."
Joe and Teresa Giudice were originally sentenced in 2014 for bankruptcy fraud and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. They divorced in 2020. The Chrisleys, meanwhile, were convicted of tax evasion, bank/wire fraud, and obstruction of justice.
Last month, Gia Giudice's younger sister, Milania, was arrested on charges of simple assault causing bodily injury at Teresa Giudice's New Jersey home. Milania Giudice has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Gia Giudice also stars in the reality show "Next Gen NYC" and has worked with various brands as an influencer. She is set to see her father in the Bahamas this week.
