German Authorities Investigate Hole Cut in Leipzig Airport Fence
The incident occurred at the same airport where a drone attack was attempted in August.
German authorities are investigating a large hole that was discovered cut into a fence surrounding Leipzig airport on Saturday night. Police reported that initial evidence suggests a vehicle may have driven through the fence along a publicly accessible road.
Emergency teams conducted a search of the airport grounds but did not locate the vehicle or any individuals on site. The discovery was made around 11 p.m. local time. Authorities are examining whether this incident has any connection to a previous drone attack attempt at the same airport in August. German officials had blamed Russia for that incident, a claim that Moscow denied.
Western officials have widely accused Moscow of engaging in sabotage and disruption activities, including the use of drones, intended to undermine support for Ukraine and destabilize European nations.
