Georgia Woman Charged in Ex-Husband's Fatal Shooting

A 76-year-old Georgia woman has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing her ex-husband and his girlfriend. Grace Edge is accused of entering a trailer home in Uvalda, Georgia, on Monday afternoon and firing five shots.

Wallace Truman Edge, 75, and his girlfriend, Pamela Cook, 40, were pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. Cook’s mother, Diane Cook, 55, was also present in the home and sustained a gunshot wound to the arm, according to officials.

"She just come in start shooting," Diane Cook told a 911 dispatcher, relaying that there was no argument prior to the gunfire. Officials with the Toombs County Sheriff's Office stated that Grace Edge allegedly entered the residence and began the shooting without provocation.

Investigators believe the motive stemmed from Grace Edge's disapproval of her ex-husband's relationship with Pamela Cook. The former couple had been divorced for over a decade but maintained an on-again, off-again relationship. "Mr. Edge had started dating Pamela, and it appears that based on information we received that Grace was not accepting of the situation," Toombs County Sheriff Jordan Kight told WTOC.

Grace Edge was taken into custody shortly after the incident, reportedly driving directly to the sheriff's office. She faces charges including two counts of malice murder, two counts of murder, and three counts of aggravated assault. She is being held at the Toombs County Detention Center awaiting her first court appearance.
