Georgia Toffolo recently took a 24-hour trip to Lake Como with her husband, James Watt. The getaway came shortly after Toffolo candidly shared her experiences with fertility struggles, detailing an eight-month journey to conceive.
Toffolo, 31, appeared chic in a pale blue dress during the trip, where she and Watt were seen enjoying the scenery and taking selfies. The couple married in March 2024 in Scotland.
In a recent social media update, Toffolo disclosed her fears that stress and anxiety might be impacting her and Watt's efforts to start a family. She admitted to having believed that their healthy lifestyles would make conception straightforward, a notion she now recognizes as incorrect. "I did have this belief that because me and James are really healthy, we are ridiculous high achievers when it comes to our health, I thought that it would just be really easy and it really hasn't been for us," she stated.
She also reflected on the emotional toll, mentioning the shame and embarrassment she initially felt before deciding to share her experience. "The last time I talked about this, I was carrying SO much shame and embarrassment, hiding it from everyone I love. Saying it out loud changed everything," she wrote. Toffolo expressed gratitude for the supportive messages from fans, noting that "every single message you send me. Every single one! They have lifted me more than you’ll ever know."
Toffolo discussed the uncertainty of the conception process, explaining the emotional difficulty of the "two-week wait" period each month. She shared that she had previously booked a weekend away with Watt after a challenging period, acknowledging that they "need it." The stress from external factors, including the financial difficulties and public scrutiny surrounding Watt's beer brand BrewDog, has also been a significant concern for Toffolo, who questioned its potential impact on their fertility journey.
"I'm sitting here thinking about the year. We've had so much stress. I'm sure you guys have seen it all, public stuff like the BrewDog stuff has been really difficult to navigate..." she said. She further commented on the general assumption that healthy individuals conceive easily, stating, "I really did just think that if you're super fit and healthy like us you get pregnant really quickly, but it isn't always the case."
