A science teacher in Georgia has been indicted on 27 charges for allegedly engaging in sexual offenses with at least seven students. Maris Nichols, 25, a suspended teacher at Alexander High School, appeared in court Thursday following her indictment by a grand jury.

Nichols was arrested twice last month as new accusers reportedly came forward. Prosecutors requested her bond be revoked due to 85 alleged bond violations within a month, leading to the upgraded charges. The indictment includes accusations of the sexual exploitation of children, child cruelty, grooming, molestation, evidence tampering, and creating obscene material for children. Eight of the 27 charges specifically relate to alleged sexual contact.

Authorities allege that Nichols was blackmailed by students over an OnlyFans account, which she reportedly used for moonlighting. It is also alleged that she helped create explicit content that featured children. Nichols' next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, with her arraignment set for August 4.

She is being held without bond after prosecutors argued she posed a significant threat to the community. Nichols was initially arrested on May 8, accused of having sex with a student on two occasions. Further allegations include having sex with another student in a car and sending explicit messages and images to other teenagers. At least two of the alleged victims were reportedly under the age of 16.

Nichols had been employed at Alexander High School since 2023. Her bond conditions previously included staying away from the school and avoiding contact with children, with the exception of her own 6-year-old daughter. Prior to the revocation of her bond, she was out on a $74,000 bond. Her bond conditions also reportedly included restrictions on her movement, and she was accused of violating these by allegedly visiting locations where children were present.
