A Georgia high school teacher faces 27 counts after allegedly engaging in sexual relationships with multiple students and being blackmailed by them for better grades upon the discovery of her OnlyFans account, according to authorities.
Maris Nichols, 25, a former biology teacher and football program administrator at Alexander High School in Douglas County, Georgia, was arrested twice in connection with the allegations involving six students. Two of the teenagers were reportedly under 16 years old, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office stated.
Search warrants obtained by news outlets revealed that Nichols operated an account on OnlyFans, a subscription-based platform often used for adult content. Some students allegedly discovered this account and used the information to blackmail Nichols into giving them improved grades.
Investigators have issued warrants for information from OnlyFans, Snapchat, AT&T, and Nichols herself, as well as multiple students and their families. A warrant was also issued for genetic evidence and fingerprints from two teenagers, and for surveillance footage from a local golf course related to a reported rendezvous between Nichols and a student. Authorities also sought a specific necklace Nichols was seen wearing in a video depicting sexual activity with a student.
Nichols surrendered to authorities after prosecutors stated she repeatedly violated the conditions of her bond, including leaving her home without permission while under house arrest with electronic monitoring. She remains in custody at the Douglas County Jail.
