Chatham County, Georgia police are searching for a man who was observed on surveillance footage trespassing onto private property, using a hot tub and pool, and exhibiting an unusual fixation on a rubber duck.

Authorities stated that the man entered the homeowner's property on September 1 between 2:15 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Video evidence shows the individual swimming in the pool before entering the hot tub, where he reportedly became "obsessed" with a rubber duck.

According to police, the man was seen "intensely interacting" with the toy for over 10 minutes. Details regarding the nature of these interactions were not provided, though a still image from the footage appears to show the suspect holding the duck near his face.

Following his time in the hot tub, the suspect left the residence on a bicycle. During his departure, he took six luxury beach towels, valued at $200 each, which were observed in the basket beneath his bicycle on the surveillance video.

"He trespassed onto their property, used their hot tub, became obsessed with their rubber duck, then stole their pool towels," police said in a statement. "It's obviously not the biggest crime we've dealt with this month, but it has a lot of ick-factor. So, we'd like to find this guy so he doesn't do this to someone else."

Police have released images of the suspect and are urging anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts to contact the department.
