Georgia Man Unfazed by Dog Attack, Plans to Keep Pets

A Georgia man who sustained severe facial injuries during an incident involving his two pet dogs has stated he does not blame the animals and plans to keep them. The man, Dustin Low of Cherokee County, required multiple surgeries to repair damage to his forehead and nose following the five-minute ordeal.

Low described the event as a "freak accident" and maintained that the dogs "didn’t want to hurt him." His wife, Chelsea Low, recounted finding him after the attack and immediately recognizing the severity of his injuries, noting that he "needed a hospital."

Dustin Low underwent two major reconstructive surgeries. The first involved a forehead flap graft to reconstruct his nostril, and the second utilized cartilage from his ear to rebuild the bridge of his nose. The family is currently fundraising for a third, final surgery.

According to a GoFundMe post created by his wife, the family needs to raise $12,310 for the initial stages of the third surgery, with an additional $6,500 for the procedure itself. They have set a goal of $25,000 and have raised $5,766 to date. Chelsea Low described her husband as a "tireless worker and provider" who is finding it difficult to be sidelined by his injuries. The final surgery is anticipated to take place in approximately four weeks, which the family hopes will allow Dustin to return to his normal life and work.
