A 63-year-old Georgia man has been charged with murder after allegedly fatally shooting his wife and daughter during an argument about elder care. Ralph Mincey was taken into custody at his home in Oxford, a town approximately 40 miles outside Atlanta, after the incident.

According to authorities, the dispute began when Mincey's 37-year-old daughter, Amanda McBrayer, accused him of not adequately caring for his elderly mother. Mincey then reportedly shot McBrayer in the head with a 9mm handgun. He then turned the weapon on his wife of 38 years, Jennifer Lynn Mincey, and shot her as well. Amanda McBrayer was pronounced dead at the scene. Jennifer Mincey was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she later died.

In a 911 call, Mincey told the dispatcher that he had "lost it" due to the argument and the accusations. "My wife had told my daughter that I didn’t take care of my mother," he is quoted as saying in newly released audio. "I do every day and, I just shot my daughter and my wife of 38 years. I just, I couldn’t handle no more, the f—ing lying and the way they were screaming at me. I don’t know, I just, I lost it. I’m so sorry. Thirty-eight years. I love her."

McBrayer's husband, Adam McGrath, told dispatchers that his wife had been drinking and was upset before the argument with her father. McGrath stated that he brought his wife to her parents' home, where the confrontation with Mincey occurred. McGrath reported that Mincey threatened to use a gun before firing at his daughter. According to McGrath, Mincey then grabbed his wife by the throat and threatened her before McGrath fled the home to protect their two children.

Mincey is currently being held without bail and faces multiple charges, including murder, according to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
