A Georgia man has been charged in connection with the burglary of the home of former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, weeks after Biffle and his family died in a plane crash, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Terrell Williams, 44, faces charges including second-degree burglary, safe cracking, and money laundering. He is currently held in Cobb County, Georgia, on unrelated charges. Investigators linked Williams to the Biffle residence after his arrest in July by Cobb County police, who reportedly found items stolen from the home.

Greg Biffle, his wife, and their two children were among seven people who died in a plane crash on December 18. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.

Deputies responded to a report of a break-in at the Biffle home on January 8. Stolen items included approximately $30,000 in cash, two handguns, NASCAR memorabilia, and gold and silver coins. Investigators have recovered some of the stolen property, including the memorabilia.

Authorities also discovered a radio-frequency detector that they believe Williams used to disable security cameras during the burglary. Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that Williams allegedly used news headlines and social media to determine when residents were not home.

Investigators are also examining a separate fraud case linked to the Biffle family's death. Bank, Venmo, and PayPal accounts associated with the Biffles were reportedly accessed online. Personal information was allegedly used to alter account information, including phone numbers and email addresses, to gain control of funds. These funds were then purportedly transferred to accounts not belonging to the family and used for purchases. At least one fraudulent check tied to Biffle’s business interests was cashed, and other attempts were made to access accounts across multiple states, according to a search warrant affidavit.
