Georgia Man, 18, Charged With Murder After Dismembered Remains Found
Police discovered trash bags containing human remains in the trunk of an 18-year-old's car after witnesses reported seeing him with a container and dropping it.
Smyrna, Georgia police have charged 18-year-old Kingston Lammar Bradley with malice murder after authorities allege they discovered trash bags filled with dismembered human remains in the trunk of his car.
The discovery followed an incident where witnesses observed Bradley carrying a container at his apartment complex. According to Smyrna Police Lt. Meredith Holt, when Bradley realized he was seen, he dropped the container and fled into his apartment. Witnesses then discovered human remains inside the container and alerted the police.
Authorities had previously responded to Bradley's residence after the family of a missing woman reported her car and phone were at the location. However, a search warrant was not executed at that time. Following the witness discovery of remains, police returned with a warrant for Bradley's car, where they found a tightly sealed garbage bag containing what appeared to be body parts.
The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the bags contained human remains. Police Chief Keith Zgonc identified the victim as Shanteria "KT" Mosley, who her family had reported missing. DoorDash confirmed that Mosley, a DoorDash worker, had not been active on the day she disappeared, and her account was last active on Tuesday, according to reports.
Police stated they are still investigating what connection, if any, Bradley had to Mosley. "This is a shocking crime, I don’t know how else to describe it," Holt said during a news conference. "I’ve been in law enforcement for 25 years and I have been a part of multiple homicide cases and I’ve worked crimes against children for 16 years, and this is a particularly gruesome crime."
Holt also mentioned that police had been called to Bradley's apartment multiple times in the past for domestic disputes, but said there were no prior indications of him being capable of such a crime. Bradley faces additional charges for concealing the death of a person. He appeared in Cobb County Magistrate Court and was denied bond. His next court hearing is scheduled for October.
Police are continuing their search for additional human remains.
