Georgia Father Finds Daughter, 4, Deceased in Bathroom Trash Can

A four-year-old Georgia girl died after being found submerged in a trash can filled with water and fish in her home's bathroom. Jayde Wooten was discovered on Saturday afternoon at her family's residence in Macon.

Her father, Maleek, returned home to find his daughter missing from her bedroom. He then searched the house and the immediate vicinity before his wife, Jordenn Jones-Wooten, screamed. He ran back inside to find Jayde upside down in the bathroom garbage can, according to incident reports. Puddles of water were observed trickling from the front door.

Maleek pulled his daughter from the container and carried her outside, where neighbors assisted. Two neighbors performed CPR on Jayde until deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office arrived. One neighbor reported that the child expelled fluid and briefly opened her eyes during the resuscitation efforts, while the other could not detect a pulse.

Emergency personnel transported Jayde to a medical facility, where she was pronounced dead. The results of her autopsy are pending. The Jones County School System confirmed Jayde was a student in their Pre-Kindergarten program and expressed condolences to her family.

Jayde's family has established an online fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses and provide support during this difficult time. In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, her mother, Jordenn, described her grief, stating, "I don't know how to explain the emptiness, the shock, the anger, the heartbreak, or the moments when it still doesn't feel real."

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Jayde's death. The family has referred to the incident as a "horrible accident" on their fundraising page.
