A 7-year-old boy in Rome, Georgia, is in a medically induced coma after being hit by a pickup truck while running to a school bus stop on the morning of Aug. 21. The child, identified by family as Aiden, sustained severe injuries including a diffuse axonal injury, a torn ligament between his skull and neck, a fractured pelvis and ribs, and a broken wrist.

Witnesses administered CPR at the scene before Aiden was transported to a local hospital. He was later airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite Hospital, where he remains intubated and in a coma. His aunt described him as a strong child who enjoys Paw Patrol and TikTok dancing.
