The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles is offering a unique perk to residents of a specific local zip code, granting them free annual passes. Individuals living within the 90037 zip code in South Los Angeles will receive the LM37 pass, which provides complimentary admission to the museum located in Exposition Park.

The museum, a $1 billion project co-founded by filmmaker George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, is set to open on September 22. The LM37 pass will allow holders to reserve admission for themselves and one guest, enabling repeat visits to explore exhibitions, attend programs, and enjoy the gardens and public spaces.

Interim CEO Tracey Bates stated that the pass is intended to welcome neighbors who have witnessed the museum's construction over the past eight years. "We want to make sure the neighbors that have been seeing the museum built from the ground up for the past eight years are the first ones inside," Bates said.

The museum's collection spans over 100,000 square feet of gallery space and features more than 1,200 works selected from Lucas's personal collection of over 40,000 pieces gathered since college. The exhibitions aim to explore the evolution of human culture through storytelling, encompassing a range of media from ancient sculptures and Renaissance paintings to photographs, comics, and modern cinema.

Among the featured attractions will be items from the "Star Wars" saga, including Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder from "Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope" and General Grievous' wheel bike from "Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith." This exhibition, titled "Star Wars in Motion," will showcase vehicle designs, props, costumes, and illustrations from the first six films.

Beyond the "Star Wars" content, the museum's offerings extend to a wide array of narrative art, including comic books, manga, children's book illustrations, and fine art. Lucas has described his collection as being driven by emotional connection rather than monetary value.

The museum's initial vision for the Los Angeles location was unveiled in 2017, with its opening date experiencing several delays before being finalized for September 22, 2026. Residents in the 90037 zip code can sign up on the museum's website to be notified when registration for the LM37 pass begins.
