Hollywood legend George Hamilton marked his 87th birthday with a trip to his native Memphis, where he participated in the annual Elvis Week festivities. Hamilton, who celebrated his birthday on August 12, attended events at Graceland, which commemorated the anniversary of Elvis Presley's death.

During his visit, Hamilton reunited with his son, George Jr., whom he welcomed in 2000 with ex-girlfriend Kimberly Blackford. The actor shared photos on Instagram documenting his time in Memphis, including a picture with his son at Graceland. George Jr., who is based in Panama, is reportedly embarking on a career in property restoration in Grenada and Nicaragua.

Hamilton was a friend of Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, which led to his acquaintance with Presley himself. He recalled attending Presley's funeral in 1977 with Parker, describing it as a difficult and emotional experience.

During Elvis Week, Hamilton participated in an onstage interview on August 15, sharing anecdotes about Presley and Colonel Parker. This visit marked his first return to Graceland since Presley's funeral.

Prior to his Memphis trip, Hamilton reportedly celebrated his birthday in Manhattan with family, including George Jr. This comes after a period of public silence in April when his elder son, Ashley Hamilton, was hospitalized for an overdose. Ashley, who has been open about his struggles with addiction and a recent battle with HPV-related cancer, was reported to be in stable condition and recovering at the time. He had previously disclosed exploring options for assisted suicide in Switzerland, expressing a desire not to leave a negative impact on his daughter.
