George Clooney Offers Support to Gerber Family Following Son's Death

Clooney, a long-time friend of the family, is described as being very close with Presley, whom the children of Rande and Cindy refer to as "Uncle George." A source told the DailyMail that Clooney had spent significant time offering advice and support to Presley, particularly after a 2018 DUI. The actor reportedly shared loving notes such as, "I am here for you."
Rande Gerber, who co-founded Casamigos tequila with Clooney and Mike Meldman, has a deep friendship with the actor that has extended to their families. The Gerbers' homes in Los Cabos, Mexico, are adjacent to Clooney's property, and the two families have often vacationed together.
Clooney has a history of demonstrating significant generosity toward his close friends. In 2013, he reportedly gifted $1 million each to 14 friends and covered their taxes for a year. Gerber recalled that Clooney insisted everyone accept the money, stating that if he didn't, no one would receive it. Gerber stated he subsequently donated his portion to charity.
Presley Gerber died on Sunday, September 20, at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica. Police are investigating his death as a suspected overdose. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office has not yet released the official cause of death, noting that the investigation is ongoing and information is limited.
