George Clooney Breaks Silence on Presley Gerber's Death

George Clooney has offered his first public comments on the death of Presley Gerber, describing the tragedy as "the worst thing that could ever happen with family." Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, died on September 20 at the age of 27.

"Quite honestly, it’s one of the most devastating things that’s happened to our family," Clooney told Entertainment Tonight on Friday evening, with his wife, human rights attorney Amal Clooney, by his side. "And their family is just… as you can imagine."

Clooney and his wife have maintained a long-standing friendship with the Gerber family. Rande Gerber and George Clooney are co-founders of the tequila brand Casamigos, and their families have been close for decades.

Presley Gerber died on September 20 from an apparent overdose while staying at a sober living facility in Santa Monica, California. He was 27 years old.
