Gemma Collins' Big Brother Stint Labeled 'Waste of Money' by Viewers After Early Exit

Gemma Collins' anticipated return to Big Brother concluded abruptly on Monday, with viewers witnessing her departure from the house after a mere 48 hours. The reality television personality's arrival on Friday, which had generated significant buzz, was followed by her exit less than two days later, prompting criticism from fans who described the appearance as a "huge waste of money."

Collins reportedly made several demands to the show's producers prior to her entry, including a private room and en-suite toilet. Expectations were that she would inject drama into the house or offer her characteristic outspoken opinions. Instead, her time in the house largely involved hosting tasks and parties for the other contestants before her departure via the Diary Room.

Given the substantial payment likely received for her brief appearance, social media users voiced their dissatisfaction. Comments included sentiments such as "Gemma should have been in there for longer," and "Gemma really got a quick cheque I don't blame her but the producers could've gave us Late & Live."

One viewer questioned, "Genuinely wtf was the point in Gemma going in?" while another remarked, "Ngl I love Gemma Collins but she hasn't done much in her two days..."

Collins, speaking to Big Brother in the Diary Room, reflected on her time in the house, calling it "a moment in her life she'd treasure forever." She also shared a poignant memory of her late mother, Joan, revealing that her mother passed away the day before Collins was scheduled to marry her fiancé, Rami Hawash.

Reflecting on the difficult period, Collins stated, "She was an amazing woman and I had an amazing 45 years with her. I was with her every day. I was meant to get married on the Thursday and my mum passed away on the Wednesday. What can you do?"

Collins was the second celebrity guest to enter the Big Brother house this series, following the brief appearance of Jedward in the previous month.
