Flights at London Gatwick Airport experienced a nearly hour-long disruption on Friday afternoon when an aircraft became stuck on the runway.
The runway was closed due to a "technical issue with a departing vehicle," according to a Gatwick spokesperson. The closure lasted for approximately 50 minutes while the aircraft was removed from the runway. Normal operations resumed shortly thereafter.
A spokesperson for the airport stated that "safety and security is our number one priority."
