Actors Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden shared a touching, emotional moment on the set of the Apple TV espionage series "Slow Horses" as filming concluded for its sixth season. The actors, who portray Jackson Lamb and River Cartwright respectively, were photographed embracing, with Lowden appearing visibly moved.
This display of emotion contrasts with the on-screen dynamic between their characters. Lamb, the slovenly spy boss, is known for frequently insulting his protégé River Cartwright. Despite their on-screen tension, both actors appeared genuinely emotional as they bid farewell to the cast and crew. Oldman, 68, and Lowden, 36, received a round of applause as they departed the set, where filming had included a police car chase featuring Lamb's distinctive yellow Honda.
The series, which stars Kristin Scott Thomas as MI5 head Diana Taverner, is based on Mick Herron's novels. Season six, set to premiere on September 16, follows the "Slow Horses" as they are embroiled in a high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge. The current season's episodes are drawn from Herron's novels "Joe Country" and "Slough House." A seventh series has already been greenlit, based on his eighth book, "Bad Actors."
Lowden, who is married to actress Saoirse Ronan, has recently been mentioned as a potential candidate for the next James Bond. He is also slated to appear as Mr. Darcy in a forthcoming Netflix adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice."
