Delta Air Lines has introduced a new in-flight entertainment option called "SkyPicks," a partnership with DraftKings that offers passengers sports-related games. While the current iteration does not include traditional wagering, passengers can win Delta gift cards for correct quiz answers.

The expansion of gambling-related content into air travel follows a broader trend of increasing sports betting advertising. Concerns have been raised about the normalization and pervasive nature of such promotions. An incident on a Delta flight from JFK to Las Vegas, where a passenger reportedly became violent and disruptive, has been cited in discussions about the potential impact of such content. The passenger was heard screaming "Aaron Boone! That Bleepin’ Aaron Boone!" before being cuffed and taken into custody by U.S. Marshals. A flight attendant was taken to the hospital for facial lacerations following the disturbance.

DraftKings, a company whose business model centers on paid participation for potential rewards, is expanding its reach through this collaboration with the airline. The "SkyPicks" offering is seen by some as a precursor to more direct wagering opportunities on flights in the future, as regulations and airline policies evolve.
