Gael Cameron Filmed 'Below Deck' in 'Survival Mode' Before Ex's Arrest
The reality star reflected on a challenging filming season and personal difficulties prior to her ex-partner's domestic violence charges.
Gael Cameron, a participant in the 11th season of "Below Deck Mediterranean," has shared that her filming experience was conducted in "survival mode" preceding the domestic violence arrest of her former partner, Nathan Gallagher.
Cameron stated that the period spent filming in Croatia was not "the easiest chapter of my life," noting that much of this time was not extensively shown to viewers. She expressed a desire to share the positive aspects of that experience that fans did not witness.
"I moved away with a new baby and still living in survival mode. But honestly? I think I did okay," Cameron, who shares a 1-year-old son, Kayden, with Gallagher, commented. She added that she was able to explore a beautiful location while navigating her new life as a mother, sharing this experience with her son.
Cameron, 30, mentioned that her best friend traveled to Croatia for three weeks to provide support during filming. "With an extra set of hands and a bit of care I stopped just surviving and moments there I got to feel like myself again," she wrote. She also expressed gratitude for the experience, stating, "Croatia showed me the strength I have as a mother and as a woman: no matter how challenging the circumstances, I will survive."
Gallagher, 28, was arrested in Australia in December 2025 on charges related to domestic violence. According to a police report obtained by Rolling Stone, he allegedly assaulted a woman, later identified as Cameron, at a Sydney apartment complex. The charges included assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent, and common assault.
Following his arrest, Gallagher acknowledged making mistakes and stated he would not accept being portrayed solely through one person's account of their relationship. Bravo subsequently terminated its professional relationship with Gallagher.
