Gabrielle Union Celebrates Upcoming Birthday with Beach Day in Miami
The actress showcased her physique in a red bikini while enjoying a sunny outing.
Gabrielle Union offered a glimpse of her beach-ready physique in a vibrant red bikini during a recent outing in Miami. The actress, who is approaching her 54th birthday on October 29, was photographed enjoying the sand and surf over the weekend.
Union sported the two-piece swimsuit, which highlighted her toned abs, paired with oversized black sunglasses and a black and white bandana tied in her hair. Before heading into the ocean, she was seen wearing cutoff denim shorts and a loose black sweatshirt. She appeared to be wearing minimal makeup as she relaxed on the beach.
Union, who is mother to daughter Kaavia and stepmother to her husband Dwyane Wade's three children, has previously discussed the societal pressures of aging, particularly within the entertainment industry. In a June 2024 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she expressed a philosophy of non-judgment regarding personal choices about appearance.
"I'm the last person to be judging anybody for what they do for their bodies, and how they live their lives," Union stated. "Again, if you like it, I love it. I used to be more judgy... and then it’s like, who gives a s**t?"
When asked about cosmetic procedures, Union indicated a preference for a more natural approach. "For myself, I’ve tried all kinds of s**t. Some things don’t work – like, my body absorbs Botox like Skittles, so that’s not really an option for me, because it doesn’t last," she explained. She noted that she favors PRP (platelet-rich plasma) facials, a process involving the reintroduction of a patient's own blood components into the skin.
"Today, I’m like, “What else do I need?” because it seems like every day there’s a new thing. But it really is each individual’s personal choice," she added.
Earlier this year, in April, Union announced the death of her father, Sylvester "Cully" Union Jr., after a battle with dementia. She shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, remembering him as a "perfectly imperfect man and father" and a person who "never left a single person behind or unseen."
