Gabby Logan Details Emotional Moment Learning of Father's Death on Live TV

Gabby Logan has shared the profound difficulty of continuing to present live television after learning of her father's death. The presenter, 53, received the news about her father, former Leeds and Wales footballer Terry Yorath, while broadcasting Match of the Day.
Yorath died in January at the age of 75 following a brief illness. Logan was replaced mid-show by Mark Chapman, who informed viewers of a "family emergency."
In a recent interview with The Times, Logan described still processing her father's death months later. "It's hard to explain how I carried on after that, and a few months down the line I'm still processing it," she stated. She noted that her brother Daniel's death in 1992, at age 15 from an undiagnosed heart condition, had a significant impact on her outlook.
Terry Yorath, born in Cardiff, had a notable career with Leeds United under Don Revie, winning the First Division title. He also played for Coventry, Tottenham, and Bradford, scoring 11 goals in 199 appearances for Leeds. Yorath earned 59 caps for Wales and was involved with Bradford City on the day of the 1985 Valley Parade fire. His managerial career included spells with Swansea, Bradford, Cardiff, Lebanon, Sheffield Wednesday, Margate, and the Welsh national team.
Following Yorath's passing, Logan expressed gratitude for the messages of support she and her family received, describing her father as a "warrior on the football pitch" and a "kind hearted and generous man off it."
Logan also spoke about adjusting to an empty nest now her twin children, Reuben and Lois, both 20, have left home. She is married to Kenny Logan, a former Scotland rugby player.
