Fundraiser for Holdout Juror in Clancy Trial Surpasses $286,000 After His Public Statement

A fundraiser established for Michael P. Desronvil, the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, has garnered significant financial support, exceeding $286,000 as of Friday. The surge in donations followed Desronvil's public statement on Thursday, where he detailed his perspective on the trial.

Desronvil, 48, stated that he believed the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence to demonstrate that Clancy was aware of her actions when she fatally strangled her three young children using exercise bands. The trial, which concluded with a mistrial, hinged on Desronvil's refusal to concur with the other 11 jurors in finding Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity.

An online fundraiser, initiated by Tom Hennessy with the stated purpose of supporting Desronvil against potential repercussions, has attracted donations ranging from $5 to $100. The fundraiser's description reads, "If they come for him, and they will, this is to cover security, lawyers, and lost work."

Desronvil's attorney, Edward Andrew Paltzik, has acknowledged Hennessy's efforts and indicated plans to establish an "authorized, consolidated, and official fundraiser for our Heroic Holdout moving forward." The outpouring of support comes after Desronvil broke his silence to defend his stance in the high-profile case.
