A month-long search for a fugitive accused of murdering a Florida man ended Thursday with the arrest of Isabelle Rose Johnson in Cottondale, North Florida. Johnson, 38, is suspected of killing Jason Coulthart, 43, and burying him in a shallow grave.
Coulthart, described by his brother Timmy as a "loving, caring" electrician and father to a 20-year-old son, was reported missing on May 24. His remains were discovered on June 25. According to authorities, Coulthart was killed with a zip tie around his neck. His body was found buried in a shallow grave that had been covered with concrete and a black Cadillac parked over it.
Investigators cited a witness who stated Johnson allegedly placed the zip tie around Coulthart's neck and covered the body with cement to prevent animals from disturbing it. The witness reportedly told detectives that Johnson disposed of Coulthart because he was "aggravating and irritating her" and allegedly threatening to interfere with her custody of her children.
Johnson, described by law enforcement as a "dangerous" con artist, reportedly used multiple aliases and enlisted a web of accomplices to evade capture. She was taken into custody in Cottondale, approximately 60 miles from the property where Coulthart's remains were found. She was wearing a black T-shirt that read "FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH" at the time of her arrest.
Five individuals have already been arrested on charges of accessory to murder after the fact for allegedly assisting Johnson. Johnson is expected to be extradited from Jackson County to Walton County on Friday. The victim's brother expressed a desire for the suspect to "rot in jail for the rest of her life."
