FuboTV CEO Alisa Bowen unexpectedly praised Fox News during her company's quarterly earnings call on Wednesday, noting its value to subscribers within the streaming service's offerings.

Bowen, who took over as chief executive after Disney's acquisition of FuboTV in October, emphasized her commitment to live television and sports as central to the company's strategy during her first earnings call. She highlighted recent successful programming, such as the World Cup and the NBA Finals, as evidence of live events' ability to attract large audiences.

She specifically pointed to Fubo's Sports + News package, which includes over 20 channels, as a versatile offering. Within this package, Bowen stated that "the Fox News component" is highly appreciated by Fubo's subscriber base and is performing well.

"Our package competes with a YouTube TV Sports package," Bowen said. "For example, the Fox News component in our Sports package is something that’s particularly valued by our subscriber base and is working well for us."

Fubo's Sports package, priced at $55.99 per month, features channels like ESPN Unlimited, local ABC, CBS, and Fox stations, alongside Fox News.

Fox News has maintained significant viewership, reportedly attracting 2.7 million weekday primetime viewers during the week of July 27th. This figure reportedly surpasses viewership for NBC, ABC, and CBS, as well as the combined numbers for CNN and MSNBC. The network has seen consistent high viewership despite broader trends of cord-cutting and evolving media consumption habits.
