Sean Reddington, founder and co-CEO of the AI-powered firm Thrive, transformed his financial situation from being nearly £19,000 in debt to leading a company valued at £250 million. Reddington, who left school at 16 with few qualifications, initially struggled with debt accumulated from social spending, viewing credit cards as a source of easy money.

His wake-up call came when his parents discovered the extent of his credit card debt. This realization prompted a significant change in his approach to finances and career. Reddington pursued a telesales role despite not having the typical qualifications, a move that proved pivotal.

He found success in sales, developing a talent for customer interaction and relationship building. Reddington believes that practical skills, such as understanding business finances and sales, should be emphasized more in education over theoretical subjects. He has been critical of the traditional university system for many subjects, arguing that it doesn't always prepare students for the workforce.

Reddington's entrepreneurial journey includes founding software business MindClick, which he sold in 2016 for £5 million. He reinvested these proceeds into developing Thrive, a company aiming to modernize corporate training by creating a learning management system that mimics the user experience of social media platforms. Thrive, launched in 2019, has since been recognized as one of Europe's fastest-growing tech firms and employs over 250 people. Its platform is utilized by major companies like Vodafone, BA, and Aston Martin F1 for employee upskilling.
