Fresno County Supervisor Garry Bredefeld is generating attention for a promotional video released ahead of his State of the County address. The clip features Bredefeld in a series of action-oriented scenes, including riding in a military tank, handling firearms, and piloting a helicopter.

The video, intended as a preview for his address on September 24, 2026, showcases Bredefeld stepping out of a military vehicle with a rifle and includes other cinematic sequences. It was created to highlight themes of "Building a Safer, Stronger Fresno County" and honor law enforcement.

However, the video has drawn criticism, particularly from those on the left, who have questioned the appropriateness of the military imagery and gun-related content. Critics have raised concerns about the use of taxpayer money and the relevance of such visuals to a county address.

Bredefeld addressed the backlash, stating that the $7,000 video was funded entirely by the Fresno Chamber of Commerce and did not involve overtime pay for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. He defended the inclusion of firearms, expressing his support for Second Amendment rights and concealed carry permits.

He described the video as a tribute to law enforcement and indicated that a longer version would be shown during the State of the County event. Bredefeld has previously drawn attention for other proposals, including one in June to designate June as “Traditional Nuclear Family Month” alongside Pride Month, which also sparked significant debate.

One of the scenes showed Bredefeld hovering over the county in a helicopter.
