Tiphaine Auzière, 42, the daughter of French First Lady Brigitte Macron, is in a serious relationship with 22-year-old kitesurfer and business student Antoine Lecomte. The age difference of 20 years between Auzière and Lecomte has drawn comparisons to the relationship between Auzière's mother and French President Emmanuel Macron, who have a 24-year age gap.
Lecomte, who is also a surfing instructor and runs a company manufacturing kites, stated that their relationship is not a "summer fling" but a serious commitment with future plans. "Age means nothing when you are in love," Lecomte told the Daily Mail. "Tiphaine may be 20 years older but she is fun, exciting and full of joie de vivre."
The couple recently shared a video compilation of a long weekend in Amsterdam on Instagram, which documented their time together. The clips included images of them in a shopping center, traveling in a VW Campervan, and staying at the exclusive Faralda Hotel.
Auzière, a lawyer, separated from her former partner in January 2025. Lecomte, who is from Lille but lives in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, stated that he did not know Auzière's mother was Brigitte Macron when she first took efoil surfing lessons from him earlier in the summer. He added that her background "doesn’t change anything between us" and emphasized that they make each other happy.
The couple plans to travel to Asia together in the coming weeks for business. Auzière will reportedly assist Lecomte in developing his kite manufacturing factory in Sri Lanka. Lecomte described their relationship as "very serious" with "a lot of plans together."
The relationship echoes that of Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron, who met when he was a 16-year-old student and she was his 40-year-old drama teacher. They married in 2007, with Macron at the time being in his late twenties. Macron has previously spoken about the challenges his marriage faced, particularly regarding his stepchildren, including Tiphaine. In a 2018 documentary, Auzière described her mother and stepfather's relationship as an ideal: "If I have to give a vision of love, it’s Emmanuel and Mummy."
Auzière has been a vocal supporter of both her mother and stepfather, campaigning for Macron and defending Brigitte against public criticism and online attacks. She has spoken out against the attacks on her mother, particularly those related to her age and relationship with the President.
Lecomte's parents are aware of the relationship and are happy for the couple, although they have not yet met Auzière. Lecomte mentioned he has had two previous relationships and that his parents are not bothered by the age gap. He added that they laugh a lot together, help each other, and enjoy their time together. "I cannot say anything else because she asked me not to say too much," Lecomte said when asked about what he finds attractive about Auzière.
