Frankie Muniz Surfaces with Tire Safety Video After 'Rock Bottom' Confession

Frankie Muniz has returned to Instagram with a practical demonstration on tire safety, posting a video Saturday that offered advice on checking tread depth. This follows a candid social media post Friday in which the "Malcolm in the Middle" star revealed he had hit "rock bottom" after what he described as a "nightmare" six weeks.
The newly shared clip features the 40-year-old actor demonstrating the "old penny test." Muniz explained how to insert a penny into a tire's tread with Lincoln's head facing down, noting that if the top of his head is visible, the tread is at or below the legal minimum of 2/32 inches, posing a safety risk, especially in wet conditions.
He encouraged his followers to check their tires before adverse weather, tagging Priority Tire in the post. The actor-turned-NASCAR driver's return to social media with this instructional content contrasts with his emotional disclosure the previous day.
In his earlier post, Muniz shared a photo of himself and wrote, "The last 6 weeks of my life have been a nightmare I’m praying to wake up from. Everything has felt heavy, unclear, and like it was falling apart at the same time." He added, "I wouldn’t wish this season on anyone."
Muniz, who has reprised his role as Malcolm in the "Malcolm in the Middle" revival series, stated that his struggles had led him to "real self-reflection" and a desire to change aspects of his life. He acknowledged reaching "rock bottom" but expressed hope that this low point would serve as a catalyst for self-improvement.
Hours after Muniz's personal revelation, his estranged wife, Paige Price, posted a message on her Instagram Story about "perspective." Without directly referencing Muniz's post, she shared a video with the caption, "Life is all about perspective. If you ask the grass, the zebra is the monster and the lion is the protector."
Muniz and Price, who married in February 2020, announced their divorce in July, stating their relationship was strongest as a friendship and as co-parents. They share a 5-year-old son, Mauz.
