Frank Lampard's £1 Million Watch Collection Linked to Coventry's Turnaround
The superstitious manager has reportedly rotated through luxury timepieces, coinciding with his team's recent successes.
Frank Lampard, manager of Coventry, has reportedly been seen wearing luxury watches totaling over £1 million on matchdays. This trend has coincided with a recent upturn in Coventry's performance in the Premier League.
Coventry secured a 4-1 victory over Newcastle on Monday night, following a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest before the international break. This marks the team's second win of the campaign under Lampard.
For the team's victories against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle, Lampard sported a Patek Philippe Grand Complications timepiece valued at approximately £879,490. This watch, identified as the Patek Philippe 5316/50P-001, features intricate complications and a platinum case, making it the most expensive watch he has displayed this season.
Earlier in the season, Lampard wore a Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph (Ref. 5980/1R), made of 18-carat rose gold, during Coventry's opening day 3-0 defeat against Arsenal. After this loss, he switched to a different timepiece.
In subsequent defeats, including one against Hull, Lampard was seen wearing a Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph (Ref. 5968A) valued at around £102,229. Against Manchester City and Brighton, the manager wore a stainless-steel Patek Philippe Nautilus (Ref. 5711/1A), estimated to be worth over £113,000. The combined value of these four watches is approximately £1,290,000.
Lampard has previously spoken about his superstitious nature. During his tenure as manager of Chelsea, he adhered to strict daily routines, believing that deviations could negatively impact matchday results. These routines included specific times for dog walks and gym sessions.
With Coventry facing an upcoming match against Tottenham, Lampard may continue to wear his current timepiece, which he appears to consider a lucky charm.
