Fox News Forecast Predicts Democratic House Takeover, Senate Remains Toss-Up
A new Power Rankings report from the conservative network suggests Democrats are favored to win at least 223 seats in the House of Representatives.

Fox News' latest midterm election forecast indicates that Democrats are likely to regain control of the House of Representatives in the upcoming elections, while the battle for the Senate remains too close to call. The conservative network's Power Rankings, published Tuesday, project Democrats to win a minimum of 223 seats.
According to the analysis by Fox News Decision Desk contributor Rémy Numa, an optimistic scenario for Democrats could see them achieve 240 seats, with a "great" night potentially pushing their total to 252. The report notes that 19 additional races have shifted in favor of the Democrats this week. Currently, Republicans hold 218 House seats, and Democrats hold 214.
For Republicans, the forecast suggests that in a "good night," they could secure around 212 seats, which would leave them six seats short of a majority. Numa stated that even this number would be sufficient to complicate the agenda of a future Democratic House Speaker, who would need to manage the differing demands of the party's moderate and progressive factions.
The Senate races are described as a "toss-up," with the possibility that Democrats could secure a majority, potentially by several seats. Conversely, Republicans could retain control of the Senate. The current composition of the Senate is 53 seats for Republicans, 45 for Democrats, and two held by independents. Democrats would need to reach 51 seats to achieve a majority, with the Vice President's tie-breaking vote a crucial factor.
