Bianca Peters, a 36-year-old anchor for FOX 5's 'Good Day New York,' announced her engagement to Equinox chairman Harvey Spevak, 62. The couple has been together for over four years.

Peters shared the news on Instagram, posting photos of the proposal which took place in El Paso, Texas, where her family resides. Spevak orchestrated a surprise proposal at Amalur Kitchen & Bar, complete with a four-string quartet playing one of her late grandmother's favorite songs, 'Cowboy Take Me Away' by The Chicks. Following her 'yes,' a mariachi band performed.

"Before my grandma passed she told my boyfriend over the phone, 'No ring, no Bianca' (in her Mexican accent)," Peters captioned her post. "If she could only have seen every crazy beautiful detail that @hspevak put into this proposal she would have cried. Thankfully for her, I did all the crying. I could have only dreamed of this, this partner, this life… BRB gonna cry again."

Peters described the moment Spevak, dressed in jeans, a brown sports jacket, and cowboy boots, knelt before her. She was wearing a white L’Agence maxi dress. The engagement ring features two large diamonds.

Spevak revealed that he brought Peters to El Paso with the intention of proposing, though she suspected the trip was for a special occasion. After the proposal, the celebration continued at Kala BajaMed, featuring a DJ and snacks from Taco Bell, a known favorite of Peters'. Spevak concluded the evening by delivering a speech in Spanish, which Peters noted was amusing given his lack of fluency.

Spevak has been the executive chairman of Equinox Group for over two decades, while Peters is an Emmy-winning morning anchor for FOX 5

The couple was introduced by mutual friend Rosanna Scotto at a Hamptons party in September 2022 and began dating shortly thereafter. Spevak has led Equinox Group for more than 20 years, while Peters is an Emmy-winning anchor.

"I couldn’t be happier to be engaged to Bianca," Spevak told Page Six. "She’s an incredibly special person and I look forward to building our future together."

Peters expressed her desire for a wedding in Mexico, envisioning "more mariachis and lots of tequila."
