Four Illegal Immigrants Arrested in Indiana Sex Offender Sting, DHS Says

Four of 11 individuals arrested in a sex offender sting operation in Indiana were undocumented immigrants, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged detainer requests for the four suspects.

The operation involved undercover detectives posing as underage individuals online, leading the suspects to believe they were arranging sexual encounters. Authorities stated the men were apprehended when they arrived to meet the individuals they had contacted.

The four individuals identified as undocumented immigrants are:

  • El Hadji Babacar Ndiaye, a citizen of Senegal, who was apprehended and released at the southern border in Lukeville, Arizona, in September 2023.
  • Lucky Philip Udoudo, a Nigerian citizen, who entered the U.S. as a 'got-away' at an unspecified time and location.
  • Filomeno Ricardo Flores Marin, a Mexican citizen, who entered the U.S. illegally in Arizona in 2002.
  • David Josue Gomez-Posada, a Salvadoran citizen, who entered the U.S. illegally as a juvenile in 2017.

Filomeno Ricardo Flores Marin faces charges including two counts of sex offenses, molestation of a minor, and enticement of a minor for indecent purposes. His prior record includes an arrest for stolen property. Marin was previously arrested by ICE in January 2019 while assisting the Drug Enforcement Administration on an operation in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was released on bond in March 2019.

Udoudo is charged with child solicitation and sexual misconduct with a minor. Gomez-Posada is charged with child solicitation, and Ndiaye is charged with child solicitation.

A DHS spokesperson stated, "All of their claims will be heard by an immigration judge, and they will receive due process. This administration will not ignore the rule of law." The spokesperson also added, "Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, if you break the law, you will face the consequences. Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the US."

DHS noted that seven of the top 10 safest cities in the U.S. cooperate with ICE, emphasizing the importance of law enforcement partnerships in combating crime and apprehending undocumented immigrants. The agency cited previous operations, including 40,000 arrests in Florida and an operation in West Virginia that resulted in the apprehension of 650 undocumented immigrants.
