An army of frogs has been photographed in Aargau, Switzerland, appearing to contemplate their surroundings. Wildlife photographer Stefan Huwiler captured the moment, showing four frogs resting on a stone in a pond.
Huwiler, 57, attracted the amphibians to the stone using food. The group, identified as common water frogs, were observed looking into their reflections. These small green frogs typically measure between 5cm and 11cm and are characterized by bright green or brown skin with dark spots, a pale cream underbelly, yellow eyes, and a light green or yellow stripe down their backs. The species is known to spend time basking on muddy banks, logs, or lily pads before quickly diving into water when startled.
