Authorities are seeking Kaegan Jude Solet, 47, in connection with a stabbing spree that resulted in at least four deaths and left a child in critical condition in Houma, Louisiana. The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office discovered multiple deceased individuals in homes near the 200 block of Ashland Drive on Saturday night. An unidentified juvenile victim was transported to a hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Solet, a resident of Houma, has a history of arrests for violent offenses, including stabbings. Police records indicate he has been arrested multiple times over the past decade for various stabbings, including one incident that resulted in a fatality. However, he has not been convicted in any of these prior cases.

In January 2019, Solet was charged with the murder of Kemple Paul Scott Lovell, a homeless man found dead from stab wounds in Houma. An anonymous tip led to Solet's arrest; he was found hiding in a shed near the location of the recent crime scene. Months later, a grand jury declined to indict Solet, citing a lack of evidence. At the time, then First Assistant District Attorney Jason Dagate stated that the evidence presented was insufficient for an indictment and that more information was needed.

Solet also faced charges of attempted second-degree murder in December 2019, stemming from a violent assault on a woman inside the Red Carpet Inn in Houma. The victim reported being attacked with a wine bottle and repeatedly stabbed. While initially identifying her boyfriend, she later accused Solet. Security camera footage and DNA evidence found in the hotel room were presented by prosecutors. Solet was found not guilty of this attack in November 2023.

The investigation into the recent fatal stabbings is ongoing, and law enforcement is actively searching for Solet.
