Four Dead in Bootle House Fire
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirms four fatalities and one hospitalization after a rapid blaze in Stone Square.
Four individuals have died following a house fire in Bootle, Merseyside, the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service announced. Another person was transported to the hospital after the incident, which occurred at approximately 3:45 AM BST in Stone Square.
Chief Fire Officer Nick Searle described the fire as "intense" and stated that it "spread very rapidly." Emergency services responded swiftly, with police cordoning off the street. Firefighters were observed checking on residents in neighboring homes.
Local residents reported hearing shouting in the early hours of the morning, initially mistaking it for an argument. Upon investigation, they observed smoke emanating from the houses. Sirens alerted many to the emergency, with multiple fire engines present in the street.
