Four people were killed and at least 15 others were injured in three seemingly unrelated shootings that occurred across Dallas's Deep Ellum neighborhood late on Halloween night, according to police.

Dallas Police Chief Daniel C. Comeaux stated that while the incidents currently appear unconnected, the investigation is ongoing to determine if there are any links between the shootings. "At this time, we have no information that they are related, but we're still doing an investigation to try to figure that out," Comeaux said during a press conference. He also noted that the number of injured could increase as some individuals transported themselves to local hospitals.

The first shooting was reported around 12:20 a.m. near the 2600 block of Elm Street. A second shooting followed less than an hour later, at approximately 1:05 a.m., on the 2600 block of Main Street. The third incident began around 1:35 a.m. on the 200 block of S. Crow Crowdus Street.

Sources from the Dallas Police Department told WFAA, an ABC News affiliate in Dallas-Fort Worth, that at one of the scenes, an individual allegedly stated an intent to "start shooting." At that location, at least three fatalities were reported.

Dallas Mayor Eric L. Johnson addressed the violence, calling such incidents "always unacceptable in our city." He emphasized that "Public safety must always remain our top priority and we must continue to explore strategies to ensure that Deep Ellum can be a safe gathering place in our city." Johnson and Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert both expressed their thoughts were with the victims and their families. Tolbert added that Dallas Police officers responded immediately and that the department "will continue to investigate this incident and work to bring those responsible to justice."
