Police have arrested four individuals in connection with a series of gangland violence incidents across central Scotland. The arrests were made as part of a "day of action" where warrants were executed at addresses in Bellshill and Motherwell on Friday. Authorities also recovered four stolen vehicles during the operation.

Detective Chief Inspector David Lamont stated that extensive inquiries are ongoing, with CCTV footage being examined and forensic analysis being carried out. "This day of action should send a clear message to those involved in this type of criminality, that we will not give up and you will be brought to justice," Lamont said. He emphasized that the incidents had the potential for more serious consequences and that such behavior would not be tolerated.

Significant inquiries remain active for all incidents, and detectives and specialist resources will continue to be utilized to identify any further individuals involved. Police Scotland announced in July that an ongoing gang feud across central Scotland had concluded as part of "Operation Portaledge," which resulted in dozens of arrests and a resolution of differences between rival groups. However, a new outbreak of incidents appeared to occur in August, leading to the recent enforcement action.
